If you only want access to our online resources, you can sign up to a digital membership right now and access all our online resources straight away. If you only have a digital membership, you are unable to borrow physical items, but we can convert your digital membership into a full membership if you visit one of our branches with some ID that has your name and address.

Libraries are more than just buildings with books; they're inclusive spaces where everyone is welcome and lifelong learning is celebrated. Offering a wealth of resources like books, digital access, programs and more, libraries support the continuous education and growth of individuals of all ages. They are pillars of free thought, encouraging the exploration of diverse ideas and perspectives.

Beyond their role as information centres, libraries are vital community hubs, hosting a variety of programs and activities that cater to different interests. These programs range from reading groups and educational workshops to cultural events and technology training, ensuring that there's something for everyone, regardless of age or background.

Libraries are especially significant in fostering lifelong learning. They provide access to resources and learning opportunities that help people develop new skills, expand their knowledge, and stay curious throughout their lives. Whether it’s children attending storytime, students doing research, adults learning new skills, or seniors engaging in community events, libraries offer a welcoming environment for learning at every stage of life.

You can borrow up to 100 items, including up to 20 DVDs. Depending on the type, items can be borrowed for four, two or one week/s. Some items will automatically get extended if no-one else has requested it. We recommend downloading the Libraries SA app to manage your account, or you can do so by visiting our online catalogue.

All libraries in South Australia are part of Libraries SA, if you join one library, you join them all. Being part of the 130+ library network gives you access to a huge collection of items that you can place on hold and get sent to your local library. You can also borrow from any library and return to any library you want. Talk about convenience!

Of course! We simply need a parent or guardian over the age of 18 to ‘look after’ their account. Each child will get their own library card to use.
